AMG 76MD and 82MD – entrance door systems
- The AMG entrance door systems are always based on the key profile systems of Veka.
- Doors made exclusively from profiles with a central seal—enhanced by Veka’s thermally optimized door leaf geometry—offer above-average thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as outstanding air and water tightness compared to competing products.
- The Softline 82MD sash profile, exceeding even the strictest requirements of the DIN EN 12608 standard and RAL-A class, with its unique 3.5 mm outer wall thickness, is one of the most stable plastic entrance door systems.
- The specially designed steel reinforcements and the standard weldable corner brackets—even in larger structures—guarantee outstanding structural stability, torsional strength, and optimal functionality throughout the entire service life of the entrance door.
- The 28 mm deep glazing rebate fits perfectly with both standard insulating glass types and a wide variety of entrance door panels, providing maximum design freedom.
- The combined use of central-seal systems and thermally broken aluminum thresholds prevents unnecessary heat loss and also prevents unwanted condensation.
- Thanks to the design of the factory Veka aluminum thresholds, the AMG entrance door systems also meet the accessibility standard requirements according to DIN 18025.
- The sash overlay design’s continuous surface not only offers an elegant solution but also prevents the appearance of distracting shadows and dirt on the sash’s exterior surface.
- The color range of more than 60 decors, the unique VEKA SPECTRAL surface, and the exterior RAL powder-coated aluminum cladding that allows countless color combinations easily adapt to any type of building and meet every owner’s vision.
- To counteract extremely heavy daily use, compensate for forces from weather effects, and prevent unwanted deformations or warping, the AMG entrance door systems are manufactured according to unique production rules that differ significantly from the standard.
- All entrance and side entrance door leaves are reinforced at the factory with 3 mm closed steel sections with the specified inertia.
- The lock-side sash profiles are manufactured by default with steel fittings prepared (precisely punched to size) for the lock cases.
- For colored structures, an additional flat rebate bar (45×3 mm) is placed in the sash rebate, which ensures the lock-side sash remains deformation-free even under stronger heat absorption.
- AMG entrance door leaves are always manufactured with factory weldable corner reinforcement fittings, which significantly reduce the occurrence of unwanted warping, prevent sash twisting, and ensure the torsional stability of entrance and side entrance doors.
- The corner brackets ensure a tight connection between the reinforcement sections within the sash and absorb bending and warping forces acting on the door surface, transferring them to the reinforcement profile in the adjacent sash.
- The weldable surfaces of the corner reinforcement fittings are designed to align with the cut edge of the PVC profile, ensuring a consistently tight connection of the surfaces to be welded and the strength of the welded corners.
- Using low-quality corner brackets or ignoring the manufacturing technology instructions for their application causes the structure to warp and deform just like any other structure without corner brackets—however, this phenomenon is completely avoided in AMG entrance doors.
- The minimum locking distance of 800 mm required for entrance doors is ensured in every AMG entrance door structure.
- Since locking on entrance doors is provided exclusively on the vertical side, it is important that each structure has at least 3 locking points and 3 hinges per side.
- AMG entrance doors—depending on type and load capacity—are equipped with three types of hinges, each adjustable in three dimensions.
- For all doors, the fourth hinges are installed even below the prescribed size limit, allowing approximately 10–15% higher load capacity.
- The load capacity of Simonswerk barrel and leaf hinges is 120 kg per 2 hinges, whereas for Dr. Hahn hinges, this value is 160 kg per 2 hinges.
- The installation of the fourth hinge is particularly important for colored entrance doors, as these structures are inherently heavier due to the rebate-reinforced flat bar and, because of higher heat absorption, an additional locking point is also recommended.
- Colored AMG entrance doors are optionally available with an automatic rod lock, ensuring continuous locking of the door leaf in the closed position, which guarantees the prevention of unwanted deformation, warping, or leaks.
- The use of factory accessories (drip edges, brush seals, threshold connecting elements) ensures proper thermal and acoustic insulation, air and water tightness, and continuous sealing of entrance doors.
- It is a well-known fact that an entrance door can only be as secure as its “weakest” component.
- Since nearly 15% of burglaries occur through the main entrance door, meeting the RC2 resistance class requirements is a fundamental expectation for entrance doors.
- For AMG entrance doors, the above requirement can be easily met with minimal additional components, as they already feature a continuous locking strip in the standard version, 300–500 mm long locking plates with 3 mm material thickness, anti-lift hinges, and hook, pin, or combined locking points that extend 20 mm into the frame.
- By additionally fitting a security handle set protected against tearing, smashing, and drilling, AMG entrance doors in their standard version already meet the security requirements for structures classified in the RC2 resistance class.
- An entrance door can only fulfill its burglary protection function if it is equipped with the appropriate components, securely locked, and continuously engaged with the locking system.
